Swoop is a marketplace platform connecting SMEs (small to medium enterprises) to funding solutions and financial savings. Swoop takes the pain out of raising finance and saving finance for business owners and financial advisors. No more painful blind research, no more arduous application forms and no more black holes of information. Swoop leverages SMEs core data points and financial information to help business owners understand the funding landscape and discover the best funding and saving options for them.
We design systems and journeys that are effortless and intuitive so that our users can spend more time on what they want to do – managing their business.
With a solid background in all aspects of product design, but specialised in UX, you’ll have a proven track record of creating digital product solutions at pace. A keen eye for clean and simple design, possess superior UX skills that can translate discovery findings into flows, functional prototypes and user experiences, using current design software (Figma).
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be working closely with the Design, Product Management and Technology teams to deliver an approach that works for all parties, our customers and the business. We are a relatively small team, so in this occasionally stakeholder-facing role, you’ll also need to be able to quickly grasp a product’s architecture and direction and respond appropriately.
What we are looking for:
UX heavyweight, 5yrs+ experience, with light UI.
Ability to take discovery, research and concept to building prototypes through to visual design using design system components in Figma.
Demonstrate a UX-focused Product Design portfolio with multiple case studies of products you worked on.
A natural problem solver, using the appropriate design methods.
Champion user needs, whilst delivering solutions for the business with consideration of the technical limitations.
Enjoy influencing product strategy. Ability to negotiate, prioritise, and break down design work into measurable outcomes.
Experience in helping define a vision for a product area.
Comfortable working with OKRs and hypothesis-driven product development.
Experience in balancing data-driven decisions with design expert intuition.
Stand for the quality of our product. Knowing when to challenge the brief if necessary.
Ability to discuss and explain your design decisions and back them up by applying customer insights and business metrics.
User Research and Testing experience. Define and run user research sessions.
Analytical thinker. You can think through complex interaction problems with a systematic approach and attention to detail
Comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in the fast-paced startup environment that is operating remotely around the globe
Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, in cross-functional teams
Bonus if you have:
Any coding knowledge
Experience with Analytics tools
Comfortable with UX copywriting
Experience working in a high-growth product-led startup
Experience working in Financial Services sector / FinTech and/or SaaS
Tech we use:
React, Vue.js, .NET

Collate business needs as well as iterate on feedback from teams and analytics
Collaborate with PMs as they define product development focus areas and with engineers as they build
Champion best practices of usability and user-centric design.
Identify and document (UX) design patterns. Establish and work to Design Principles.
Requirements:
Proven experience working as a Product/UX designer for 5+ years
A solid grasp of Human Centred Design and a record of implementing UX/UI work.
Confidence working in isolation or with the wider team at any given moment throughout the process.
Strong portfolio of key projects delivered in past years, calling out your role on the project, deliverables and responsibilities articulated
In-Depth knowledge and experience in user research and testing, with the ability to approach to dissect both qualitative and quantitative data.
Excellent communication skills and a portfolio which demonstrates strong problem-solving ability in various phases of research, design and delivery
Ability to highlight and gather design requirements independently
