The Projects Peer Review Panel (PPRP) 2025 grant invites applications from eligible UK researchers who have successfully completed the statement of interest (SoI) stage.   STFC will fund 80% of the full economic cost (FEC) for large or complex projects in areas like particle physics, nuclear physics, astronomy, astrophysics, accelerator physics, and computing. This opportunity is only open to applicants based at UK research institutions eligible for STFC funding who have been invited to submit a full proposal after completing the statement of interest (SoI) stage. The grant supports initiatives like participation in high-priority experiments or missions, the development of new instruments or technologies, upgrades to existing detectors or computing facilities, and the operation of current research infrastructures. The duration and funding of the award are determined based on project needs, with STFC covering 80% of the full economic cost (FEC). Projects should align with the scientific priorities of STFC and are reviewed through regular PPRP rounds. Applicants must have discussed their ideas with STFC programme managers and secured approval before submitting a proposal. STFC does not fund project studentships under this scheme, and applicants are encouraged to follow the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers and Technician Commitment. Proposals should also adhere to UKRI’s Trusted Research and Innovation (TR&I) guidelines, ensuring international collaboration is conducted ethically and securely.
