About the role
As a Commercial Mortgages Funding Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting SMEs seeking property-backed finance solutions while being part of our wider Corporate Funding team. While the majority of your work will focus on secured, property-backed transactions, this role also offers the opportunity to gain exposure to larger-scale corporate funding deals — including invoice finance and invoice discounting facilities, venture debt, and management buyouts (MBOs). For those looking to broaden their expertise, this position provides the ideal platform to develop within a high-growth fintech and expand into these areas of structured finance.
Key responsibilities
Review inbound enquiries and contact customers, initially by telephone, to discuss their funding requirements and negotiate and agree terms of business
Make outbound calls to existing Swoop Account holders to identify leading opportunities and negotiate terms accordingly
Develop an understanding of customers’ requirements to offer a client focused service, always treating customers fairly and identifying cross-selling opportunities
Develop an understanding of customer’s needs to offer a client-focused service, always treating customers fairly and identifying cross selling opportunities
Build new business relationships with potential clients and introducers by offering market-leading funding solutions with exceptional service
Represent Swoop in a professional manner at meetings with clients, advisors, and lenders
Collaborate with the wider Corporate Funding team to support larger and more complex funding opportunities
Complete and present funding applications to a wide range of lenders, negotiating with banks and alternative finance providers to find the best solution for clients
Acting as a go-between for lenders and borrowers in need of commercial mortgages and/or property backed finance
Maintain and manage a pipeline of opportunities, ensuring all administration is completed accurately within Swoop’s CRM and internal systems
Manage all client correspondence and applications, following internal sales procedures through the whole process
Achieve productivity and sales budget KPI’s as agreed with your Line Manager
Ensure all compliance regulation and legislation is adhered to where relevant with all eLearning modules completed ahead of agreed deadlines
Adhere to FCA conduct rules and core responsibilities at all times
Support Swoop in expanding its lender network by identifying and compliantly onboarding new lenders to the platform
About you
Proactive self-starter who thrives both independently and within a team
Strong motivation to succeed and deliver excellent customer outcomes
Experience and understanding of property finance products (Commercial Mortgages, Portfolio Finance, Development Finance, Bridging FInance)
Interest in developing exposure to larger scale funding such as invoice finance, venture debt and MBOs
Proven ability to build and maintain client and introducer relationships
Prior sales experience is essential
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial accounts
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Computer literate; prior experience with G-suit is advantageous
Own network of business customers and/or introducers preferred
Understanding of wider Swoop markets such as insurance, capital allowances, and R&D tax credits beneficial
