We’ve been thinking about where we might find new opportunities in the coming 12 months. With central London still not seeing the footfall it was used to pre-pandemic, businesses are looking at customers outside the capital. And where businesses go, investors may wish to follow.

What we’re reading
Beauhurst’s recent Equity Market Update
The team at Beauhurst always do a great job of diving into the latest data on UK equity investment.
We found it hard to ignore that 53% of deals in Q1 of this year went to London based companies with less than 3% going to the Midlands. Swoop wants to help change these stats – if you are a business looking to raise equity in the East or West Midlands please sign up to Swoop and upload your pitch deck for our team to review and see where we can help.
From ghosting to discrimnation
At Swoop we aim to work with passionate and fair VCs, but it’s not always the case. We hear from the founders and how they are treated by VCs.
Mental Health Awareness Month
This year, the focus for Mental Health Awareness Month is raising awareness of the impact of loneliness on mental health and how it can be addressed practically. StartUps Magazine have shared some of their favourite startups tackling the space here including Komp – a one-button computer bridging the communication gap between those struggling to use modern technology, and their more tech-savvy family and friends.
On the Mental Health note, our friends over at Paranimo are hiring a Software Developer and B2B Business Development Manager. Paranimo helps companies to better understand and improve employee mental wellbeing through their mental health platform that understands an individual’s unique mental health needs and matches them to the right support. They have recently raised investment in addition to being awarded grant funding by Innovate UK.
